Rock Solid Cross artwork was inspired from the mountains of Arizona where the idea of the stone cross came to me from God. I currently use stone from Arizona, Minnesota, Brazil, Uruguay and India and many more countries will be added to that list in the near future.
Founder, Rock Solid Cross
As with most faith stories, the path to my faith in Jesus Christ and the start of my ministry was not always smooth and flawless. I was raised in a very loving Christian home, but like many people, I veered off course and did not always make wise decisions. I fell into a lifestyle of partying and drinking. When life got to a point where that lifestyle felt empty and unfulfilling, I got down on my knees and asked God to help me put my life together. I surrendered my life to Him.
In 2001, I took an amazing mission trip to Guatemala. While in Guatemala, I heard the Lord very clearly say that He wanted me to do His work. After playing the part of Jonah for many years and fleeing from what God was calling me to do, I finally committed myself to do God’s work.
I began to feel Jesus leading me to give away all my material possessions and to follow Him. He wanted me to use my gifts and my life to bring His promise of hope, comfort, peace, and redemption to others. In October of 2014, I gave away all my material possessions, except for what could fit in one suitcase, and flew from Minnesota to Arizona, with an uncertain path ahead of me. I only knew Jesus wanted me to reach others by sharing His Word. Following the lead of Jesus through several amazing and obvious incidents, I am working to accomplish His will.
Shortly before Christmas 2014, while hiking in mountains around Scottsdale, Arizona, I heard God tell me to take a rock and shape it into a cross. I made my first cross and loved the way it turned out. I quickly made twelve more for Christmas presents. Every person that received one of my crosses expressed to me how much they loved it and had never seen anything like it before. It was a unique creation. I was encouraged to make more crosses.
I have been making crosses since that time. I gather the rocks from the mountains of Arizona and all over Minnesota. I plan to continue to make the rock crosses and sell them to help support the ministry that God is directing me to build. The crosses have been named Rock Solid Cross because Psalm 18:2 tells us that:
2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
One of my favorite bible verses is Romans 8:28. “And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” I believe my purpose is to continue to lead others to Jesus through this ministry. The mission of the Rock Solid ministry is to reach non-believers with God’s word and to help Christians to grow in their faith.
While listening to one of my favorite pastors, TD Jakes, the following prayer resonated with me: “Lord I need you in my life. I believe you died for my sins and I accept you as my Savior. Help me put my life together. I am going to walk with you from this day forward.”
God’s blessings to you-
